Ministry of Labour investigating incident

One man was killed by a heavy vehicle at a work site in Ottawa’s east-end Industrial Park on Wednesday evening, according to a report.

Paramedics received a call at approximately 6:30 p.m. about a man trapped under a vehicle near the 2400 block of Sheffield Road, between Innes and Walkley roads.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, reported CBC.

By Thursday morning, two Ministry of Labour vehicles, police cruisers, and a fire truck were seen at a Cascades facility on Sheffield Road. “A ministry inspector has been assigned to investigate,” a ministry spokesperson told CBC News by email. “As the investigation is ongoing, no further details can be provided at this time” .
