NORWICH, Conn. — A Norwich man is facing charges after a shooting at a local bar left two people injured late Saturday night.

Police were called to Pistol Pete's Bar and Grill on 29 Stonington Road around 11:30 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

Two people who were shot were taken to an area hospital, and police said they are expected to be OK.

Police found and took a firearm and evidence related to a shooting during an investigation.

The alleged shooter, Keith Nival, 44, was found nearby and identified as being involved in the shooting, police said.

Nival was charged with criminal attempt to commit assault, firearm possession, unlawful discharge of a firearm, reckless endangerment and breach of peace.

He was held on a $250,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 2.
