GLENDALE, Ariz. — A man with several weapons arrested inside State Farm Stadium on the Friday before Charlie Kirk's memorial service was there to do advanced security for a known Turning Point USA guest, according to a statement from the organization.

Joshua Runkles, a North Carolina resident, told a Department of Public Safety major already on-site Friday that he was a law enforcement officer, according to court records. He presented a Franklin County Sheriff's Office badge and an Idaho law enforcement officer identification card and said he was called by Turning Point USA to work security, according to the records.

The DPS major told Runkles that any security working with TPUSA needed to be approved for access to the event and he was not allowed to be armed on the grounds.
