FREDONIA, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Health Department and the Village of Fredonia are lifting a Boil Water Advisory first put into effect on Friday.

According to the Health Department, on Sep. 19, the Village received results from two failing bacteria samples in its distribution system, one of which contained E. coli.

Two consecutive days of testing show the water is now safe for drinking, cooking, and cleaning.

If you have not used your water since the advisory was issued on Friday, you are asked to flush all lines before use. This includes ice makers and refrigerator water dispensers.
