Police have made an arrest after a man was rushed to hospital following a 'disturbance' outside a bar.

Officers taped off the street outside Bar Salsa shortly after 8.30pm on Saturday night as buses were also diverted from the scene.

Police were called to a report of a disturbance near the Grassmarket and a 28-year-old man was rushed to hospital.

Images from the scene showed both sides of the street taped off outside the popular bar and club with cones also erected as several police cars and plain-clothed officers responded to the incident.

Following enquiries, police have since arrested a 39-year-old man in connection.
