Oregon is the 10th most expensive state in the U.S. for fast food, with affordability rankings generally aligning with the overall cost of living in the state, according to researchers.

The result was based on a study analyzing menu prices at six major takeaway chains – McDonald’s, Burger King, Chipotle, Chick-fil-A, Taco Bell, and Domino’s – to create a comprehensive affordability index, awarding each state a score out of a possible 10 points.

Oregon is the 10 th least affordable state, with a score of 4.47 on the affordability scale index.

The cheapest state in the country for fast food is Mississippi, scoring 10/10, offering consistently budget-friendly takeout prices for residents. California ranks as the most expensive, with an overall score of 0.41.
