SAN ANTONIO — Two men are in custody after police say they used what turned out to be a toy gun to steal building supplies at a construction site in Von Ormy early Sunday morning.
Officers were dispatched for reports of a robbery in progress around 3 a.m. to the 6000 block of Sliding Way near Fischer Road.
Police saw a vehicle with two occupants fleeing from the location as they were pulling up to the scene. Police say the two men, one 57-years-old and the other 38-years-old, were seen stealing roof shingles from a new build area at a property under construction.
The 25-year-old victim told police he confronted the suspects while they were trying to steal the supplies when he pulled out a weapon. The suspects then drove off and shortly afterward were apprehended.
