KERRVILLE, Texas — Our "Forgotten Friends" series showcases a dog or cat each week that has spent a lengthy time at an area shelter, just waiting for someone to notice them and bring them home to love.
This week's Forgotten Friend is a Heeler mix named Atlas, who was found wandering around in Kerrville after the flooding on July Fourth. He was brought to Kerr County Animal Services . Kerrville Pets Alive! tells us that animals face possible euthanasia if they are not adopted, because they just don't have the room to keep them all.
Atlas is super friendly, and loves attention. He likes playing with toys and adores playing in water at the pool. He has mastered playing fetch and enjoys getting taken on long walks.
He is house-trained and is submissive if challenged.
