MISSOULA — The Montana football team got off to its fastest start in a game since nonconference play last year and didn't let up as it scored its most points since 2022.

The No. 5 Grizzlies raced out to a 35-7 halftime lead on their way to a 63-20 win over Indiana State on Saturday at Washington-Grizzly Stadium. They improved their record to 3-0 while unranked Indiana State dropped to 2-2.

The Griz rolled up 371 yards, 18 first downs and went 4 of 7 on third downs while averaging 8.6 yards per play. That was just the first half. They finished with 647 yards and 33 first downs, both season highs, and were 9 of 15 on third downs while averaging 8.2 yards per play.
