Illinois football dropped 15 spots to No. 23 in the most recent US LBM Coaches Poll , released Sunday.

Bret Bielema and the Illini dropped after a 63-10 loss to now-No. 12 Indiana on Saturday night in a matchup of College Football Playoff contenders.

Illinois , which hosts USC on Saturday, is among seven Big Ten Conference teams in the new rankings , including No. 1 Ohio State, No. 2 Penn State, No. 5 Oregon, No. 12 Indiana, No. 18 Michigan and No. 22 USC. The Illini were predicted to finish fifth in the Big Ten in 2025, according to USA TODAY Network writers .
