The Manitoba government is spending $354,000 toward a walking and cycling path in Ste. Anne. The contribution comes through the Manitoba Growth, Renewal and Opportunities for Municipalities ( Manitoba GRO ) program.
The funding will support Phase 2 of the Traverse Road Active Transportation Project. Work includes the construction of a new path running south from Centrale Avenue to a grocery store that opened in 2024, as well as upgrades to land drainage and storm sewers along the route.

Mayor Yvan St. Vincent said the project has been a priority for the community. “This extension will give residents a safe way to walk or bike across town, whether they are going to school, shopping, or visiting the personal care home. It’s an important step in our long-term plan.”
