The City of Grand Junction’s Salt Flats affordable housing development is moving steadily ahead with the City Council authorizing letters of intent with two additional developers at its Wednesday meeting.
The developers, Rural Homes and Vertikal, are proposing to construct for sale units within the development, Housing Manager Ashley Chambers said. The development will include a mix of rental units and for sale units.
The development is located northeast of the intersection of the Interstate 70 Business Loop and 28 Road. The city is currently working on the initial infrastructure within the development.
“The infrastructure for phase one, which if you’ve driven through that area recently you’ll notice, is well underway,” Chambers said.
The city is utilizing grant funding made available
