YBOR CITY, Fla. (WFLA) — The former President of Tampa Pride, Carrie West, said that all festivals, parades, and events have been placed on a one-year hold following a lack of donations from the community and corporations.

The money the nonprofit collects at this time of the year is used to secure venues, permits, and security deposits for events throughout the calendar year.

"We're looking for at around 225, $275,000 minimum to carry us over," West said.

Typically, the group receives donations from larger companies in the low six-figure range, but this year, many corporations have backed out of usual donations due to concerns over DEI programs.
