Syracuse, N.Y. —Syracuse football quarterback Steve Angeli will miss the remainder of the 2025 season, according to ESPN.

Pete Thamel reports that an MRI revealed Angeli tore his Achilles in Syracuse’s 34-21 win at Clemson on Saturday afternoon.

Thamel reported that Angeli expects to have two more years of eligibility, as he expects to qualify for a medical redshirt this season.

The injury happened with 3:09 remaining in the third quarter when Angeli was scrambling to his right before tripping and falling to the ground.

He couldn’t put any pressure on his left foot and was immediately helped to the medical tent.

Angeli had completed 18 of 31 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns against Clemson to that point.

Angeli left Memorial Stadium in a boot and on crutches.
