It’s been a record-setting sort of day at U.S. Bank Stadium on this Sunday afternoon, and even the Minnesota Vikings’ kicker is getting into the act.

On the final play of the first half of Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Will Reichard connected on what is the longest field goal in franchise history as he slid a 62-yard attempt just inside the right upright with time winding down. That kick eclipses the 61-yarder that Greg Joseph made in 2022 to beat the New York Giants on the same field.

At first, it looked like Reichard was going to push the kick wide to the right, but it kept coming back and managed to make it just inside the post. He had plenty of distance and managed to draw the ball back enough somehow to get it through.
