The Big 12 Conference's highest-scoring team isn't slowing down as it knocks on the door of becoming a top-10 college football team.

Starting the day with a 9 a.m. local time kickoff in Salt Lake City, No. 16 Texas Tech continued its hot start to the season with a 34-10 win over No. 18 Utah on the road. Red Raiders backup quarterback Will Hammond threw for 169 yards and two touchdowns in the win in replacement of starter Behren Morton after the latter sustained an injury in the third quarter.

Arizona State picked up a gutsy 27-24 road win at Baylor for its second consecutive win after being upset in Week 2 by Mississippi State. Sun Devils quarterback Sam Leavitt led Kenny Dillingham's squad down the field to set up the game-winning 43-yard field goal from Jesus Gomez.
