SOUTH RICHMOND HILL, Queens (PIX11) — A woman was killed while trying to cross the street in Queens on Saturday, according to the NYPD.
The incident occurred at the intersection of the Van Wyck Expressway Service Road and Liberty Avenue at around 2:30 p.m., according to police.
Officials said a Toyota Scion struck the woman, 51, and another pedestrian after being rear-ended by a Mercedes-Benz in the left lane on Liberty Avenue while turning onto the Van Wyck Expressway Service Road.
The 51-year-old was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, according to police. The other struck pedestrian sustained minor injuries and is in stable condition, officials said.
Both drivers involved in the crash stayed on the scene following the collision. No arrests were made, and
