Angelina Jolie is opening up about politics.

The 50-year-old actress, director and activist got candid when asked about living in America during the 2025 San Sebastián Film Festival , where she’s premiering her new film Couture .

When asked about what she feared as an artist and an American, she reportedly “sighed deeply” and take some time before answering, per Variety .

“It is a very difficult question.”

“I love my country, but at this time, I don’t recognize my country,” she went on to say.
