MACON, Ga. — Families in Macon got a sweet chance to celebrate fatherhood on Saturday, with a scoop of ice cream on the side.
The Macon Violence Prevention (MVP) Program worked with Macon Mental Health Matters to host their 2nd annual "Ice Cream with Dad."
Father figures gathered with kids and other dads at Carolyn Crayton Park for the celebration.
The free event welcomed them to connect with games, bounce houses and sweet treats.
"Ice Cream with Dad" is part of a national movement from a group called "The Active Dad," which promotes mentorship, community, and support for fathers.
MVP coordinator Jeremy Grissom said events like this aren't just fun, they're necessary.
