A community celebration turned tragic Friday night after a shooting broke out during the Gautier High School Alumni Homecoming Event.

According to police, the shooting occurred around 10:00 p.m. on September 19 near the roundabout on Dolphin Drive. Three people were injured in the incident. Two victims were transported by Gautier Police Department units, while a third was taken by Pascagoula-Gautier School District Police.

Authorities confirmed that a 22-year-old from Gautier later died from injuries at the hospital.
