Drake Maye couldn’t carry over the momentum into Week 3 after having his best performance in his young career in Week 2.
The Patriots quarterback went 28-of-37 for 268 yards with two touchdowns and an interception in New England’s 21-14 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Gillette Stadium.
Maye looked uncertain at times and reminiscent of his Week 1 self, and wasn’t able to convert on 4th-and-1 from the Steelers 28 with 2:11 to play. He hit Pop Douglas for zero gain to end the drive and a chance at the game-tying touchdown.
After the game, coach Mike Vrabel assessed what he saw from his quarterback.
