EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Michigan State women’s soccer scored early and often on Sunday afternoon, beating USC 4-0 for the Spartans’ first win in Big Ten play this season.
MSU junior defender Kennedy Bell scored just 48 seconds into the game off an assist from freshman defender Ava Lutke to put MSU up 1-0. That score would hold until the second half.
In the second half, Bell assisted junior midfielder Kayla Briggs’ 51st-minute goal to put the Spartans up 2-0.
Bell netted her second goal (and third in the last two games) in the 66th minute off assists from Briggs and junior defender Ella Janz, making it 3-0 MSU.
After a foul in the box, senior defender Remini Tillotson scored a penalty kick to give Michigan State a 4-0 lead that the Spartans would hold to the final whistle.
