CINCINNATI – The Cubs have their spot in the postseason secured, but the improbable path to a division title has officially come to an end. With a 1-0 loss to the Reds on Sunday afternoon – completing a four-game sweep at the hands of Cincinnati – the Brewers were able to celebrate capturing the National League Central crown.

The Cubs can now turn their attention solely to the NL Wild Card picture, in which the North Siders currently hold the top spot. As things currently stand, Chicago would host a best-of-three Wild Card series at Wrigley Field with the Padres as the opponent. But there are still six games left on the schedule, and the Wild Card race is heating up.
