Top-ranked Sacred Heart soccer , the defending state champion, used solid defense to defeat fourth-ranked Assumption on Sunday in a matchup of Louisville's top programs.

Sophomore forward Charley Henry and senior forward Emma Zutterman each scored in the first half, leading the Valkyries to a 2-0 victory in front of an estimated crowd topping 1,000 at Assumption Green.

Sacred Heart (14-1-1) leads the state in team defense and has allowed only four goals this season. The Rockets (10-3-2) were held scoreless for only the second time this season.

The Valkyries have three regular-season matches left before the postseason begins in two weeks.
