Indiana basketball picked up its first commitment in the 2027 recruiting class Saturday with the pledge of Rogersville, Missouri, point guard Chase Branham, who chose the Hoosiers over offers from Purdue, Tennessee and Iowa, among others.

The 6-foot-4, 175-pound Branham visited IU over the weekend, attended the Hoosiers' football game Saturday night, and committed during his visit. He is the No. 33 recruit in his class, per 247 Sports, and the the eighth-ranked point guard.

Branham was connected to IU through assistant coach Nick Norton, who played for the same AAU program – KC Run GMC – Branham does.
