SPOKANE, Wash. — The energy was high in Spokane's University district as the 3rd Annual Boulevard Race hit the streets. A race that is dedicated to supporting cancer patients and their families across the Inland Northwest.
"Both of our kids have been to camp Good Time, so we are glad it's raising funds for cancer in the community," said supporter Stephanie Newman.
"We both became nurses at 47. We went back to school when we were 40, and we worked at Kootenai for 20 years. So we saw a lot of cancer," said supporter Kaye Gonzales.
Rosina Machu was the first woman to cross the finish line. A current Gonzaga University student from Boise, Machu is no stranger to the finish line. She is an All-American and two-time West Coast Conference Champion in 2023 and 2024.
