TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Tallahassee State College (TSC) recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of its dental programs with a new certification and award program.

TSC announced it partnered with the Florida Dental Association to expand training for dental hygienists and dental assistants, helping them obtain more certifications.

The Executive Director of the Florida Dental Association, Drew Eason, said this can also help contribute to the growing need for dental professionals.

“It allows dental hygienists and dental assistants to take extra training that will allow them to do more procedures in the dental practice, so that the dentist and his or her team can do more procedures for more people,” Eason said. “So, it really spreads the workload out and will provide excellent care for p
