CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. — Volunteers, including local high school students, came together at Mount Calvary Cemetery on Sunday to restore grave markers of veterans who served in the armed forces, ensuring their final resting places remain visible and honored.

Many of the markers had become overgrown or buried by soil over the years, but the combined efforts of volunteers and cemetery staff brought them back into view. The restoration work is part of an ongoing effort to preserve the memory of those who served.
