ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKYT) - Harold Smedley suffered second degree burns after a house fire almost two months ago.
Now, he’s finally back home from the hospital.
“It went from a nightmare in a matter of 20 minutes to a blessing and a miracle in disguise,” Morgan Bradley, Loretta and Harold’s granddaughter says.
The aftermath of that nightmare still remains here at Harold and his wife, Loretta’s home off of Highway 519 in Rowan County.
“I can’t remember that much. I just know that he got burnt on his legs and stuff,” Loretta says.
Bradley tells us he was in the UofL burn unit for three to four weeks, and spent another 20 days receiving care in Mt. Sterling.
Now, his family says he’s healing well.
He came home about a week ago on his wedding anniversary.
