Carlsbad High defends State Fair culinary crown
For the second straight year, Carlsbad High School won the New Mexico State Fair’s green chile stew throw down, earning top honors in the statewide culinary competition.
Eldorado High School placed second, and Taos High School came in third.
The schools earned $5,000, $3,000 and $2,000, respectively.
The event, organized with the help of ProStart and the New Mexico Restaurant Association, drew schools from across the state. Additional competitors included Volcano Vista, Albuquerque High, West Mesa, Clovis and Chaparral.
