Santa Fe County officials have not yet identified a person found dead in a home that burned Friday in Pojoaque.
First responders were dispatched to the house fire near the intersection of Bouquet Lane and N.M. 503 around 10 a.m. Friday. When they arrived, the house was "fully engulfed" in flames, according to online reports from the Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office.
Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 15 minutes, but a person found inside the home did not survive injuries sustained in the fire, county spokesperson Stephanie Stancil wrote in an email.
No determinations had been made about the cause of the fire as of Monday, but officials noted the New Mexico State Fire Marshal's Office opened an investigation.
