Health care giant UPMC is on the move again, this time with plans to push into Ohio.

UPMC is negotiating to acquire Trinity Health System’s medical facilities in the Steubenville area, which include three hospitals, two urgent care centers and a behavioral health and physicians’ office building, according to three people familiar with the plans, but who were not authorized to speak publicly about them.

The talks were underway as UPMC’s chief competitor Allegheny Health Network continued negotiations to acquire struggling Heritage Valley Health System in Beaver County.

Terms of a potential UPMC-Trinity deal were not available.
