A young man was found dead just six days after he begged doctors not to send him home from a mental health hospital.

Patrick Liam Coyle, who was from Wigan , was found dead at a flat in Accrington six days after being discharged from a mental health hospital despite asking if he could stay, an inquest has heard.

In the days following his discharge the 27-year-old became increasingly unwell, LancsLive reports .

Patrick took himself to A&E on March 7, three days after being discharged, and asked to be readmitted but was deemed safe to be discharged after he said he had no plans to take his own life.
