A village railway station could be turned into a coach depot. Nationwide Coaches Ltd has submitted plans to Huntingdonshire District Council to turn existing yard and buildings at Wansford Railway Station into a commercial coach depot, as well as add security fencing.
Nationwide Coaches, based in Peterborough , purchased the railway site earlier this year. It intends to move its current operation from its site in Bretton to Wansford station.
The planning documents said: “The company is looking to move away from rented premises and has purchased the site with a view to operate from it as a permanent base for the operation of its coach fleet.” If approved, the applicant said the depot would “reinstate commercial activation” into a vacant site which has a “long history of commercial
