HAMILTON, Ohio (WXIX) - Butler County residents are about to receive an “unprecedented” property tax break, county leaders tell FOX19 NOW.

County Commissioners are holding a special 9 a.m. meeting Monday to vote on property tax legislation, followed by a news conference.

It appears poised to pass with at least two of the commission’s three members firmly supporting it.

Butler County residents have been hit hard by unprecedented property tax hikes in recent years.

Now, county leaders say they are taking action to ease that burden because state leaders have failed so far to pass reform.

“We cannot wait for the state of Ohio to keep talking. Our taxpayers demand action now,” said Commission President Don Dixon.
