SHREVEPORT, La. - The Shreveport Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3500 block of Palm Road around 1:35 a.m. Monday.

The people inside were able to safely escape, and firefighters rescued and administered lifesaving treatment to two dogs that were inside the home.

The official cause is still under investigation, but SFD says discarded smoking materials may be a contributing factor
