Sensex, Nifty updates on 22 September 2025: Indian equity benchmarks ended lower on Monday, led by a sharp sell-off in information technology stocks after the U.S. announced a steep $100,000 fee on new H-1B visa applications. The Sensex fell 466 points, or 0.56%, to 82,159.97, while the Nifty 50 declined 125 points, or 0.49%, to 25,202.35. The Nifty IT index tumbled 3%, wiping out nearly ₹85,400 crore $9.7 billion) in market value, with Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra and Wipro among the worst hit.
