COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - A suspect is hiding from police after reportedly failing to rob a McDonald’s early Monday morning.

The attempted crime was reported at the restaurant on 8th Street just south of Cimarron around 5:30 a.m. Police tell 11 News the suspect walked into the back of the business and tried to take money from the manager, claiming to have a gun. The manager never saw a weapon, and police say that after telling the suspect to leave, the suspect ran out of the building and hid in nearby bushes.

At some point, the suspect may have slipped away from the area; as of 5:50 a.m. officers had not found him.

Police do not believe the would-be McRobber got away with anything.
