TOLEDO, Ohio — Lucas County Canine Care and Control (LC4) is encouraging the public to adopt dogs ahead of the organization's move to its new facility .

According to a press release, LC4 will waive adoption fees for all adoptable dogs until Sept. 27, made possible by a grant from the Best Friends Animal Society. This fee waiver will help find homes for more dogs while the organization moves to the new shelter.

“Our new shelter is state-of-the art, but we’d much rather see a dog move into its forever home than move locations with us," said LC4 Deputy Director Terra Bundy in the release.

Adoptable dogs from LC4 are spayed or neutered, have age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, dewormed and have a negative heartworm test. Additionally, dogs are current on flea, tick and heartwo
