Telisha Jones, a woman who used artificial intelligence to create an image with the controversial AI music tool Suno, supported by industry heavyweight Timbaland, has signed a recording deal as her AI character, Xania Monet.
According to Billboard Pro, to bring Xania to life, Jones utilized Suno technology, which is currently involved in copyright disputes with major record companies. Earlier in the month, during a Zoom meeting with record executives, she secured a $3 million deal with Neil Jacobson’s Hallwood Media, a former executive at Interscope.
Monet received several offers as one of her recordings, “Let Go, Let God,” is on two of Billboard‘s charts. She also debuted at No. 25 on the Emerging Talents list, and the song is currently No. 21 on the Hot Gospel Songs.
