Alex Warren played a sold-out show at White River State Park's Everwise Amphitheater in downtown Indianapolis Sept. 23.

Warren's "Ordinary" became one of the biggest songs in the world after going viral on TikTok and reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 10 nonconsecutive weeks.

Warren's emotional songs about grief and his goofier on-stage personality made him a hit among fans.

The neon yellow of the sign swaying in Section 200 caught Alex Warren’s eye, but he couldn’t quite make out the writing. Squinting was no use, so Warren asked the audience to shout out what the sign said.

The bulk of the crowd fell quiet as those closest to the sign obliged.

“KIDNEY FAILURE AND SEPSIS.”
