THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - Archbold Hospice held Camp H.E.A.L. Saturday in Thomasville for kids who may be struggling after the death of a loved one.

The day’s activities included a mixture of art and animal therapy, games, music and counseling.

Organizers said it is a way to create a soothing, comfortable environment where kids ages 6-12 can talk about grief, ask questions and learn about the path to healing after losing someone.

Jason Bennett, director of spiritual care, said the goal is to help kids work through the different emotions they feel during the grief process.

“It provides them with tools and resources to help them as they grieve, but it also shows that it’s okay to feel happy and sad at the same time,” he said.
