LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — Hillsdale College, a Christian liberal arts college located in Hillsdale, Michigan, announced on Sunday that it will honor conservative political activist Charlie Kirk with an honorary degree.

"He's gone to the lord; he deserves his reward," Hillsdale President Dr. Larry Arnn said while speaking at Kirk's memorial service in Arizona.

He adds that the school is working to set up a scholarship for Kirk's children to ensure that "they will go to a good college."

The school plans to give the honorary degree to his family in the spring.

Kirk was shot and killed on Sept. 10 while debating on the campus of Utah Valley University as part of his “American Comeback” tour.
