HALE, Mo - The city of Hale has adopted a revised Nuisance Ordinance in response to growing concerns and complaints from residents regarding property upkeep.

The previous version of the ordinance was written in 2016 and contained 22 pages. The revised ordinance streamlines it to five pages with simplified language.

The new ordinance also grants more flexibility for property owners and opens the door for more active enforcement. Hale will contract with Green Hills Regional Planning Commission to provide unbiased enforcement. The commission will send a trained code enforcement officer to Hale on a regular basis to document any violations. The city will then review the violations and notify residents.
