ATLANTIC BEACH, N.C. (WITN) - A Havelock man is facing multiple sex charges after his arrest Saturday in Jacksonville.

Brennen Petty is charged by Atlantic Beach police with first degree sexual forcible rape, two counts of first degree forcible sex offense, robbery with a dangerous weapon, felony breaking and entering, crimes against nature, and assault by pointing a gun.

Police say the crimes happened in Atlantic Beach on Thursday and that the 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday at a hotel in Jacksonville.

Warrants say Petty was armed when he broke into the woman’s home and then raped her. He is also accused of stealing items from her home.

Petty is jailed on a $1.5 million bond.
