BOSTON (WWLP) - Trash and recycling pick-up resumes on Monday after nearly three months of inconsistent service due to a strike by Republic Services workers.

The strike, which ended Friday afternoon, concluded with a new five-year contract that the union describes as the strongest they have ever achieved, according to NBC Boston. The agreement includes increased wages, improved dental, audiology, and vision benefits, among other terms of employment.

Republic Services leaders have requested patience and understanding from the public as they work to restore normal operations.

With the resumption of services, residents can expect a return to regular trash and recycling pick-up schedules as Republic Services implements the new contract terms.
