Langley Rivermen began their regular season with back-to-back wins in Powell River on Friday and Saturday.
In the first game, after 20 scoreless minutes, Shave Purves picked off a puck at the Powell River blue line and fed first year Riv forward Finn Kallay inside the Kings blueline. Kallay then found rookie Marco Depedrina who placed the puck on the stick of Purves, a tic tac toe goal put Langley in the lead.
Kings tied the game midway through the middle frame, but that was as good as it got for the hosts.
Langley's Ethan Makokis found newly minted assistant captain Hunter Curtis in front who would put the visitors back on top 2-1 shortly following the Kings tying goal.
1:26 later Jacob Wingfield would fire a puck from almost below the goal line that beat Kings goaltender Erik Powers
