BEAUMONT, Texas — The City of Beaumont kicks off a series of ward-by-ward informational meetings this week to educate residents about five bond propositions totaling $264 million that will appear on the November ballot.
The first meeting begins Monday at 6 p.m. at the Lakeside Center in Ward One, followed by sessions in the remaining three wards through Thursday. All meetings will run from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and feature a "come-and-go" format where residents can drop in at any time. Residents from any ward are welcome at any of the meetings.
City Council approved the five bond propositions in August covering infrastructure, public safety, parks and road improvements. If all propositions pass, taxpayers would pay approximately $14.25 more per month for each $150,000 of taxable property va
