TURNERS FALLS, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Turners Falls Fire Department is warning people to be extra careful with any outdoor cooking during these drought conditions.
Firefighters were called to an out-of-control brush fire in Millers Falls Sunday afternoon. No one was hurt and the fire was knocked down.
However, officials noted that the cause of the fire was the re-ignition of a cooking fire from Saturday night and, given the elevated fire risk, people are asked to remember to be mindful with anything that could spark a fire outside.
