A 16-year-old Cambridge boy and a 22-year-old Guelph man were charged after two security officers were allegedly attacked in Stone Road Mall in Guelph over the weekend.
Guelph police said the incident occurred at about 5:35 p.m. Saturday, when several young people were in the mall’s food court area with their hoods up. Security officers asked them to remove their hoods, as per mall policy, and were escorted out of the mall when they refused.
Once outside, police said, one of the pair pushed a security officer before the others joined in, punching and kicking both security officers several times. Eventually, the security officers were able to detain one of them and the others fled on foot.
Responding police officers saw one of the youths running from the area and he was caught following
